Sukhothai

Lost a tooth !

We got to explore this beautiful place on bikes .

It is harder to get to and because cars aren’t allowed in a lot of area , it is so quiet and calm . Most people tour on bikes or buggies .

It is one of the older capitals of Thailand and the remains are quite majestic . The Buddha statues are well preserved. My favourite two were one top of a hill and the other that you got glimpses of through the pillars before you actually get to view it .

It’s also the place where the current Thai script originated so there are shrines of King Ramkhamhaeng celebrating him .

The kids started off the day being grizzly towards each other but mid morning something switched and they have declared themselves BFFAY ( best friends for a year ) . They made song and dance routines and lots of piggybacking had them both in a happy mood through the day .

We biked back in the evening to watch the sunset , it was the busiest I saw the area . It was the type of place I expected to see a wedding proposal .

In the night markets we saw neon green guavas in the fruit stalls , I looked it up they are peeled guavas soaked in green sugary dye ! Noooooo !

I am really glad we came to Sukhothai , it was such a peaceful place and biking around really mixed it up for us .
