Luang Prabang - Pak Ou caves

Another jam packed tour today. We started at the Ban Xang Hai ( whiskey village ). I liked the rice wine , good start to the morning . They also had whiskey bottles with scorpions and snakes used for medicinal purposes. Kids were quite fascinated by it .

Next up was kayaking to the Pak Ou Caves on Mekong River . It’s always interesting kayaking with the kids and trying to keep up with group . We got there in good time and a few laughs as I fell into the water when getting out . Lots of stairs to explore the caves . They contain more than 4000 Buddha statutes , placed by travellers for good luck .

Back kayaking along the river where Savik and I hit a banana boat and did a full turn . Then luckily Savik’s competitive side kicked in and he started rowing so we got to our destination ahead of our guide !

We had lunch and a play in the pool at the elephant sanctuary. While waiting for our sunset cruise the kids went for a short ride on the elephants . Aanya was fearless as she rode a massive tusked elephant .

Ended the day with a beautiful sunset cruise . It was a very relaxing ride to end the busy day .
