Ho Chi Minh- Day 3

Relaxed morning , trying to get schooling sorted .

The afternoon was spent at Ben Thanh market , it is filled with stalls and just taking it all in takes time .

While we were booking the tour for tomorrow we decided to show the kids Saigon at night on motorbikes . Jeevan and I had done this when we were here in 2013 and had very fond memories. Required some persuasion to get Savik on the back of one but he had exactly the right guide for him who had him relaxed and laughing in no time . Aanya was a pro and also had a perfect guide for her who gave her lots of information plus fashion tips .

Being on the back of a bike here is a whole new level as we are weaving in and out of busy traffic and dodging other bikes as they come near you  from every angle . Loved learning facts about the place . We got to see the monument made in memory of the monk who burnt himself and were shown a video of the event too . He sat so calmly as he burnt , I covered the kids eyes as didn’t want them to get nightmares. We also saw the ghost buildings , 3 large apartment blocks that have been abandoned due to the superstitions that surround it .

Also saw the flower market and night food markets , so funny to see Pani Puri stalls here .

Ended the night with smoothies which included Custard apple and Sapato . Savik did not want to get off his bike ! Definitely a highlight for the kids .
