Hanoi - Day 2

Leisurely start to the day . We headed to a museum as we skipped it in
Laos . We chose the Museum of Ethnology as it’s meant to be good for kids due to its interactive nature . It had a similar vibe to the Mari Mari village in Kota Kinabalu but not as fun. We got to learn about the different tribes of Vietnam. There was the funeral house which was surrounded by statues of men and women holding their genitalia symbolising the birth cycle . This one had the kids giggling followed by lots of questions. There was one house with very tricky stairs which had Savik trialling all his gymnastic skills . Aanya was a bit of celebrity with her curly hair . Lots of people wanted pictures with her and kids were wanting to give her treats !!

The evening was spent at the night market , it went on for ages . At the end was entertainment and I am not sure exactly what it meant but a man dressed up was dancing on a stage then he threw money into the crowd . Some of the tourists who got the money left the area pretty quickly after that.

The children ate a new version of ice cream - balls of colourful dry ice , looked like they were smoking as they blew smoke out of their mouths and noses . Once the novelty wore off they realised it wasn’t actually tasty and it went in the trash .

Ended the night by watching some people dancing , all ages( mostly middle aged and older ) and very coordinated . As they were going other people joined in and they all knew the steps . One of the songs was Mexico , haven’t heard it but going to look up the dance video .
