Hoi an is best explored by bike, so most hotels have complimentary bikes for people to use. As Aanya is referred to as ‘baby’ by most South East Asian people, she got to truly experience that by sitting on the baby seat of my bike, as there were no bikes of her size. I know she secretly enjoyed it as she always calls me, her butler.
We headed out exploring the outer parts of the old town and I finally got a hair cut after growing my hair for a whole year.
The old town of Hoi An was an important trading town many centuries ago and is a UNESCO heritage town now. The old buildings and the small alleys were luckily not destroyed during the wars. It seems busier than the last time we were here which was 10 years ago. Hoi an is at its best at night with the streets and the river full of boats that are lit up with lanterns . We walked the streets ,had some good Vietnamese food and even haggled for more t shirts with no success.
Aiming to head to the beach tomorrow, we’ll see how we all fare in the morning.
