Colombo

A week in Colombo to end our month in Sri Lanka. It was a very fun filled week with heaps of extended family time and exploring the new things in Colombo like Port City and the Lotus Tower.

We went with cousins to Port City, there is an artificial beach made from reclaimed land. The kids had a great time climbing on the inflatables bobbing in the water, they  became quite a challenge when the tide came in.

A night time visit up the Lotus Tower (Nelum Kulana) was a new one for our aunt, uncle and cousins (always happens that you end visiting the sites only when you have visitors). It’s the tallest tower in South Asia and we got to see Colombo with all its bright lights. Ended the night at Carnival, the ice cream parlour visited by all the locals.

A day spent at One Galle Face watching a Hindi movie (Crew), kids getting excited to eat Rolled ice cream again and I enjoyed all the shopping. Kids also very excited to see their cousin’s photo on the billboards (she has recently started modelling). 

My favourite of it all was just watching the kids playing with their cousins, Savik wrestling, running around, finding new games while Aanya learning new things from the older ones.
