Sukau - Sepilok- Sandakan

After heavy downpour through the night we managed to get a dry spell for a walk along a road in the rainforest before heading back . We managed to see the red leaf monkey and the kids had fun playing with the “touch me not “ plant . One was singing it to sleep and stroking it and the other was commanding it to sleep and touching it with their foot .

Next stop Sepilok - Sun bear and Orang Utan sanctuary. Had never heard of the smallest bears before. It was fun watching them , likely have seen them in Indian Circuses when growing up .

In the Orang Utan sanctuary there is a nursery where we saw all the mothers with their babies in various ages . They stay with their mothers for 5-6 years ( longest of any animal ). A male somehow was in the nursery feeding zone and tried to bully the others but got punched by one of the mothers ( go girl !) .The feeding platform for the rest of the orang utans only contains bananas . It’s to make it monotonous so they search for food and get ready to be released in to the wild .

Finally got to our apartment in Sandakan which the kids loved for the swimming pool, play area, massage chair and carrom board . I loved it for the washing machine .

We are getting very used to Grab for rides and food . So easy .

This one was very much a love yourself monkey .

A whirlpool.

Sprayed before starting .
