As April draws to an end to the Awurudu celebrations continue. We went to one at the tennis club organised by Jeevan’s brother. I was like excited to wear our outfits again and we received a lot of compliments for them (passed them on to my SIL). It was great to see the kids enthusiastically play all the games. Aanya won the lemon in the spoon race and Savik the fastest bun eating competition after which he felt sick and also lost a tooth. There was tug of war (Jeevan and I were on opposite teams), breaking of the pots (adults cheated and could see through the blindfold), one legged pillow fight in a ring (Jeevan and his brother were opponents for one round) and a lot more games.
These bits are some of my favourite things of the trip, children getting to take part in things we did as children and spending time with their cousins.
I accidentally broke Aanya’s prize (a glass bottle) so had quite a grumpy child on the way home. We aren’t going to be taking Savik’s prize with us either, due to lack of space so I think that helped ease the anger.
In the evening we were back at the club for the cousins to play some tennis away from the heat of the day. Savik and Saven are similar in age and similar in skills and both a little too confident of their awesomeness so made it fun to watch.
