Amazon- Iguazu falls

After we woke in the morning it was time to head back to the boat after we packed our hammocks. It was fun to hear each other’s stories as to how they slept. Amazingly the kids slept well and we are so proud of them as to how they have adapted seamlessly to new environments. I don’t think anybody would choose to sleep in a hammock again even though it sounds exotic.

After a well needed shower and breakfast we headed out for another jungle walk. Many of us were not keen but as it is our last day we decided on a short walk. We explored a new part of the jungle and came across some bats that were so tiny and well camouflaged we were amazed how our guide even spotted them. After seeing some medicinal, as well as poisonous plants we headed back to get ready for our departure back to Manaus.

Return trip was similar, with the non air conditioned Volkswagen combi van followed by a boat ride and then on to a taxi. We bid farewell to our German/ French American couple who were quite fun to be with.

When we arrived back at the hotel our guide sent a picture of a Capybara they had just seen on their afternoon boat ride. We obviously felt disappointed but glad we had an enjoyable trip to the Amazon.

Next up an overnight flight to Iguazu falls, our last stop in Brasil.
