Cape Town - Day 3

We did it .

Table Mountain, reached the top. Bright sunny day, minimal wind so off we went, huffing and puffing we used the " easy " route. The views were absolutely worth it and we were thankfully not mugged. Used the cable car for the downward journey as we had a lot on for the afternoon.

Well those plans went down the drain as our camera stopped working and we spent the time trying to find a place that would repair it in a day, Friday afternoons are not the best time for such things. Now plans for tomorrow have to change too. Initially got stressed but we sat in a garden and chatted and felt much happier after that.

All part of the experience.

  2. Glad you got to climb the mountain. I assume you took Platteklip Gorge up the front. Probably saw many proteas and furry, lazy dassies. (little furry guinea pig like animals on the mountain, genetically related to... elephants.)
Good idea to take the cable car down.

Clifton's beaches are only about a km toward the city from Camps Bay, hidden, so less wind. The water is just as cold though. :)
Sorry about the cam :( Hope its not major.

  3. Suddenly I'm homesick -the humour, the wind, the dassies..... the beach, the wine the food.

  4. AJ- Yup, that is the route we took, loved the view from the top. Are you sure you are not part of the SA Tourism industry, they had the same information about the Dassies on the mountain. Leaving Cape Town tomorrow for Namibia, absolutely loved it. Visited the wineries and cape point, will upload more when we get wi-fi

Adele- Its absolutely beautiful here and the people have been super friendly.
